The first day of our future.
Today is the first day of our future.
It is given that we are in uncertain times. We are lucky though. 3 years ago we began to further digitalise our operations and moved a number of our processes to a cloud-based system. We adopted new modes of working that focus on mobility and always-on cloud availability, initially to enhance our delivery for clients not based in Malaysia. That effort led to a complete roll-out to all clients in Malaysia and little did we know that this exercise meant we could move from office to home instantly when the Government of Malaysia announced the Movement Control Order.
Except for some minor psychological trauma for the more extroverted members of our team, we were lucky to not skip a beat.
There has been a lot of talk about being agile and adaptable during times of uncertainty. We’re putting money where our mouths are. We’re putting that into action.
> MOVING TO A NEW HOME
Beginning 27 July 2020, we will be moving to a new home:
Level 8, Vertical Corporate Tower B, Avenue 10
Bangsar South, 59200 Kuala Lumpur
The MCO hasten the rethink of our physical office space and how we are using them today. This move allows us to be more agile and flexible with not just how we work, but also where we work. From on-site studios to client sites, to remote working teams in different states and countries, we are opening the possibility for our company to participate in the new agile economy.
> CHANGE OF NAME OF BUSINESS
When we first started as a company, we built several service lines in PR, Events, Digital, Advertising, etc. 10 years ago, we saw the coming change of marketing integration and decided to merge separate business units into one singular company, with a unified team and P&L.
We picked our PR unit to lead because we know at that time; story-telling is going to be the key to future successes and pinned our strategy on that. For the past 8 years, we operated on this model and we stuck with the name used by our PR unit. But as we move on to a new phase of agility, we are also reflecting this in our name.
BRANDTHINK PR Sdn Bhd will today be changed to BRANDTHINK Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a name we have used for years but now officially reflected in our business registration.
The above changes are merely cosmetic today, a starting point so to speak. Will we still be the same company? We sincerely hope not. 10 years from today, we hope that the work we deliver for our collective clients will make our company significantly different from what it is today. There is more innovation left to do, and more work left to deliver.
For now, we see this is a first step for the next phase of our shared future; and we would like to thank everyone who has shaped our journey. We look forward to more amazing collaboration as we navigate a new climate of business.
